The relay consists of four legs: 10 miles, 5 miles, 9 miles and 6 miles with the aim for each team to finish around 1:30pm. Our first leg runners usually start at around 9:30.
Following the finish, teams are encouraged to go to a local pub for the prize giving and some lunch.
Since the dawn of time this event has been on the same day as the London Marathon. This year it has been moved back six weeks to June, so take the opportunity and join in what is always a highly recommended race.
This is a 6 leg relay from Leighton Buzzard to Northill (near Sandy) with legs varying from 3.9 – 9 miles. The teams aim to complete the course by 4:30pm and their start time is determined by a preset handicap based on age and gender. The website for the event can be found here: https://www.smoc.info/GSRR/gsrr.htm.
There is also an option to do the run as a solo. This is in the region of 34 miles!
There is a series of six of these races, 3 in winter and 3 in summer. We have chosen to include the final race in our series because it fits in with the overall club calendar.
You have a choice of 6K or 12K route around the grounds of Stowe.
In the Dunstable Challenge you have the choice of Half marathon, 20 miles or marathon.
