Unfortunately our time at the Axe and Compass has come to an end. Following the departure of Emma to have her baby, the quality of service went with her. As a result, we have now made The Globe our regular haunt on a Wednesday night. If you aren't running for any reason feel free to join us there from about 9pm every Wednesday, all partners are most welcome to come along as well. Details can be found at www.globeinn-leighton-buzzard.co.uk |

Following a few discussions over recent weeks, Charlie Thompson has volunteered to co-ordinate a running club golf day at one of the local courses (probably Aylesbury Vale near Stewkley) as a fun day out. The standard is likely to be very low so if you are only an occasional player then you'll fit in very well. Just drop Charlie an e-mail (

Many thanks go to Pat Neilan for our little trip out to Tring. Anyone who said that he couldn't organise a p**s-up in a brewery has once again been proved wrong! Although we weren't in the new premises, I'm sure that Pat will do the honours again next year, just in case anyone has forgotten how the stuff is made. |

Thanks go to Amy Inchley and Damian Hill for overseeing a great fun night at Leighton Buzzard Golf Club on the 7th May. The venue and food and service were excellent and a great time was had by all. Assuming they'll have us back, it will be the ideal venue for next years event. Details of the award winners is in the News section. Photo's are in the Gallery. |

The annual bowling night went off well last night with 28 people in attendance at Xscape. A good time was had by all and there was even a bit of good bowling. On the ladies front Mandy Clay's lead after the first game of 98 was lost as Jane Sauer, Kirsten Lawson and Jill Richardson all scored over 100 in the second game, with Jill's 127 giving her victory and a total of 215. On the men's front, Joe Hurley scored an outstanding 187 in the first game, so despite Simon Coombes getting a PB of 150 and Tom Inchley 149, their totals of 285 and 274 respectively could not get near Joe's excellent 310 points. |
