Training Sessions

There are three core training nights for senior (16+) members:

  • We have a speed training session on Monday nights departing at 7.30pm. It is usually from Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre, but sometimes from other locations around the town – keep your eye on the calendar or facebook training page for updates! The session focuses on building speed endurance for racing and often has a mix of juniors and senior members of all abilities.
  • Tuesday night is for those new to running or for those who have only recently started and are hoping to improve. These sessions are led by Kate, start at 7.00pm and again meet at Tiddenfoot. Please email to let us know if you are coming down for the first time, so we know to expect you!
  • We also run on Wednesday nights at 7.30pm, again departing from Tiddenfoot. The emphasis of the night is on social running and sharing advice and experiences. We encourage all abilities to attend this night and try to keep everyone fairly together, so there will always be someone around to keep you company!

There are also other regular training sessions at the weekend when we’re not racing. Look out for monthly track sessions to develop speed and weekly Sunday morning runs to improve stamina, led by different members of the club.
