Simon Coombes lead out a team of ladies around the Wolverton 5 course on Saturday afternoon. The race, which has been running for many years, is now run around the shores of Willen Lake in Milton Keynes and attracts a some top athletes from the region at the front end of the field.

Simon's finishing time of 28.28, whilst being someway off his best, is a very respecatble time and yet only earned him 30^th position in the race, which was won in 24.42 by Adam Bowden of Harrow AC. Following Simon home was club president Gail Duckworth, who's time of 31.16 gave her the award for 1^st V50 by a very comfortable distance. However, we also understand that Gail's time now ranks her as the number one V50 in the country over the distance. This is a fantastic achievment Gail and so congratulations from everyone at the club.

Theresa Keefe and Amanda Martin had something of a battle all the way around with Theresa eventually coming out just ahead of Amanda, in a touch under 51 minutes.
