Chiltern League

The Chiltern Cross-Country League AGM was held last week and there were a couple of things to take note of. Firstly, the dates for next year have been published as the 9th October at Oxford, 13th November, 4th December, 15th January & 12th February. They are all Saturday afternoons.

These are the main focus of the winter running for the club please put them all in your diaries NOW. The final one, on the 12th February is highly likely to be our home fixture at Cottesloe School in Wing where we will not only need runners but everyone else to help out on the day too.

We had a good year last season and just managed to acheive promotion, but we will need a much better turn-out from the whole club if we are to stand a chance of retaining our place in division one. The absolute bare minimum is 10 men and 4 ladies for each event, but the more we have, the more we take points from other teams. Likewise there are 5 junior races where teams of four can all score points so the more who run the better.

The final point was a change in the timings. The senior women and men are now going to have the U17's put in between them on the schedule so that there is plenty of time for a handover of children and therefore babysitting should be less of a problem.
