Why is it that when I don't make the Stag it is packed full of PB's? In October there were 7 and in the late January version there were 8!

The only person out of the first 9 finishers who didn't get a PB was Richard, who may be a little beyond the days of all-time PB's! First home on this occasion was Katie Haylock who has now run two Stags and won two Stags. She clearly has a good opportunity win the overall title but cannot afford to miss any more, with just three left.

Following Katie over the line was Charlie Mead who got a huge PB by around 40 seconds and is now on the hunt for the family record I am sure. Despite still suffering with broken ribs, Mark Haynes finished 3^rd, just three seconds ahead on Jane Sauer who beat her PB from March 2011 with 17.10. Both Jordan Clay and Sarah Plummer were selected to run for Bedfordshire in the Southern Inter Counties Championships at the lovely cross country course at Shuttleworth near Biggleswade. Jordan running in the U17 team ran strongly to make the scoring team and finish in 63^rd place over the 5K course, helping Bedfordshire to a 9^th place team finish. Sarah running in the U15 Championships finished in 72^nd place with her team finishing in 6^th place. She continues to hold her own at this high level of the best athletes in the South of England. Both Sarah and Jordan have regularly represented the County over recent years and congratulations are due to them both for maintaining these high standards. read more

Saturday 7^th December saw the club descend upon Campbell Park in Milton Keynes for the 3^rd Chiltern League Cross Country fixture.The notoriously hilly course did not deter the 17 men who turned up to endure it.Luckily the course was slightly shorter than some in the series.Peter Mackrell was again the first Buzzard man over the finish line in 50^th place.Ian Grimshaw followed in 70^th place.Next came Paul Douglas and Adam Haylock who continued their impressive cross country racing finishing the course with a sprint finish to cross the line in 82^nd and 83^rd place, just a second apart. The rest of the men finished in close succession, many commenting on the intense course which included some very steep rises and few flats to recover. read more
