Watchless 4

The third running of the LBAC Watchless 4 took place on Wednesday instead of the usual training run. The turn-out was strong thanks to a healthy contingent of Leighton Fun Runners joining us for the evening. This time last year there were just a few people who got within a minute of their predicted time, but this time around 22 out of 29 manage the challenge.

It would seem though that pushing yourself to run quickly may be a better tactic that aiming to trot round at a comfortable pace as we once again had joint winners who did exactly that. Both Gary Stratford and Chris Dimmock were just one second outside their own predicted times and took the pot of cash to share between them. read more

Fairlands Valley Relays

On Thursday 25th July, 16 LBAC runners made their way across to Stevenage for the annual Fairlands Valley Relays. The event consists of a 3k loop around Fairlands Valley Park with the men's teams consisting of five runners and the women's three runners. LBAC was able to muster up two complete men's and women's teams, mainly thanks to Fiona's nagging! This is normally a high standard event and this year was no exception. Many of the much larger local clubs put out very strong teams but little Leighton more than held its own. read more
